“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken” Oscar Wilde
The title sounds a lot like a mother’s advice. In a world where we see endless possibilities everyday, the concept of normality is outdated. We don’t need to study an unfortunate man’s story to understand how he overcame his difficulties to become wealthy and healthy. It just doesn’t make sense nowadays to credit the results to luck. We know that the main principles for any sustainable change are appreciation and desire. Appreciation for who we are and what we live, so we can see and act towards what is best. The ingredient missing is how to develop our sensitivity and listen to our intuition, that inner voice that shakes our grounds. For that, we need to make an effort in this dense world where everyone tries to be the same.
“That’s not what everybody is doing” is no excuse and to which any mother, specially mine, would reply “you are not everybody”. Actually, none of us are. We are the exception, for we are all very much unique in our core. Our essence, however, is equal. We are individually responsible for our own lives, consciously or not. We create the outcomes we live, and this is how we are responsible for our cluster, layer by layer, starting with our families, the first organisation we are in contact with. Get the idea?
Therefore, what we see around us has a lot to do with the way we treat ourselves. If we don’t like what we see, how long until we change our perception, and our attitude, is our free will and each person’s growth process.
Change now and live a different effect.
